Tournament Structure for LoL LCS
The League of Legends Championship Series comes with 10 competing teams. Each Season of the LoL LCS is divided into two Splits, called the Spring Split, and the Summer Split. Both Splits are contested in the form of a round-robin format, which is played over the course of nine weeks, followed by Playoffs, which takes place over three weeks.
Each team plays the other team twice (Best-of-five Map matchup), in due course of the round-robin fixtures of each Split of a LCS Season– The top six teams from the round-robin rounds, qualify for the Playoffs. Each Split of the LoL LCS comes with a designated prize pool. The Winner of the Summer Split, the Runner-up team, and the Third-placed team qualify for the League of Legends World Championship, for a Season in question.
All LoL LCS matches are played offline. LCS matches are live streamed on platforms like Twitch, and YouTube, as w🀅ell as betting likes like Bet365, and Luckbox, among others.

History of the LoL LCS
The League of Legends Championship Series is owned and organized by Riot Games, the publisher and developer of League of Legends. The LoL LCS was initially called the North American League of Legends Championship Series (NA LCS), before being rebranded to the League of Legends Championship Series, in 2019 – The words “North American” were dropped from the tournament’s name.
The first Season of the LoL LCS took place in 2013, with the 2013 and 2014 Seasons o🍃f the LoL LCS witnessing the participation of 8 teams. 10 teams have featured since, during each Split of a LCS Season (2015 onwards). All LCS matches, are played on an offline basis.
